Hahaha, complain all you want. :) ‘tis fine. This is the first record player I have actually purchased myself, the other one I used to use was a hand-me-down. I actually just started a vinyl collection of my own, which is very small now but I think it’s great so far (Donovan, Tim Buckley, Paul Simon, Cards…) and I hope to get more soon. As a college student I do not have much room to set up the extravagant system, but I hope I can make room for it where I am staying and hook some decent speakers to it (I bought one without built in speakers). It’s not a very expensive one, but I figured it would work for now. I know I will definitely purchase a better one soon.

I really need to hit up Borders, used vinyl shops, and  flea markets. So far I keep bidding on ebay for vinyl…which is not a very healthy thing to do since I tend to impulse buy a lot. I think finding good shops would solve that, hopefully.

I hope you are able to get one soon! Sesame Street songs are pretty bad ass too, though.

Congrats!  I was so tempted, because of all you guys talking about them so much and all, plus, and I’d not seen it before (I don’t get out much sometimes), I saw this rack of vinyl at omfg borders!  I looked at this rack, in the section where the cds and dvds are all 30% off y’know, and I was all, what’s this stuff, calendars?  ohshit, records?  at borders?  I know, I’m so not with it, but wow, I had no idea.  My last record player broke like 15 years ago, all the vinyl is packed away lord knows where, there was never all that much of it anyway really, some though, some classical too, back when we were really into all the right components we could afford, before having babies and not enough money to mount speakers out of their reach properly and before years of listening to pretty much mostly sesamestreet songs…I asked hubby for a sec, in that borders, wow, I guess we could buy a new recordplayer maybe and he gave me the don’t-think-about-it-wench look, sigh.  Okay, s’nuf complaining…sorry…congrats!
